Temperature Rising and All About Orange Review and Swatches

Since i am so behind i decided to combine two recent collections into one post! Hope you guys don't mind!

Temperature Rising-
I loved this collection for its warm tones and rich colors. Some of the shades were borderline fall, but they do work for the season! I love that the collection is made colorful with just a pop of purple.

Limited Edition - 16.50$
Lipsticks-
Calienti- This dazzle formula is lightweight and shimmery. Burgundy base with gold and purple flecks of glitter. Can apply slightly streaky but overall is an easy to apply lipstick that gets about 4-5 hours of wear.
Sheer Seduction- Also a dazzle formula. equally light weight. Not as shimmery as Calienti, is a copper base with copper glitter which is most noticeable in direct sunlight.Lasts 4-5 hours
Feel My Pulse- A light and creamy light magenta in a cremesheen finish. Lats about 5 hours on the lips and goes on opaque in about one swipe.
Altered Beige- This yellow based beige in a luster finish is the perfect light nude. Goes on opaque in about 2 swipes and lasts about 3 hours on the lips. Creamy.

Top to bottom- Calienti, Sheer Seduction, Feel My Pulse
Altered Beige
Wearing Altered Beige on the lips and Temperature Rising Quad on my eyes- Swelter on lid, beauty marked on the outer corner, Performance Art on my brow bone, and Temperature Rising on the crease. Ripe for love on my cheeks and nude on board as my contour.
The Glosses in this collection were equally beautiful which shades that perfectly compliment the lipsticks.

Limited Edition-
Underdressed - This shade pairs perfectly with Calienti. This gloss is super glittery and contains flecks of gold and purple. It is a bit sheer on its own and lets your natural lip tone peek through when worn alone but really make the lips dazzle by layering over Calienti.
Rhythm- This semi sheer light magenta gloss has flecks of pink glitter. Over bare lips gives a hint of purple but over Feel My Pulse this shade really pops.
Soft Serenade-  This soft sheer gloss has flecks of copper in it. The sheerest of all four glosses gives the lips just a hint of glitter when worn alone. It is a very natural look and would look fantastic at the beach allowing for some sparkle without looking overdone. Also looks great layered over Sheer Seduction.
Liquid Passion- This lipglass is the most opaque  of the four and applies a bit milky. A yellow based nude will settle into the creases of your lips when worn alone but looks great over Altered Beige.

On the left is Underdressed, swatched on skin, and swatched over Calienti. On the right is Rhythm, swatched on skin, and swatched over Feel My Pulse.
Liquid Passion Lipglass

Rising Sun cremesheen glass from all about orange and Soft Serenade

From top to bottom - Rising Sun (from All About Orange), Soft Serenade, and Liquid Passion.

There were two quads featured in this collection. Each one very pigmented. These are a great improvement from the recent quads that MAC has been releasing. They apply easily, easy to blend, great pigmentation, no creases when applied over primer, 8 hour wear.

 Limited Edition- 44$
Bare My Soul -seems a bit fall in terms of color scheme it is meant to reflect the gold and bronzes of the beach, tans, and sun. The green allows these shades to really pop. Great for natural looks and smokey eyes. Romantico - is a soft beige, Bare My Soul- a golden yellow, Friendly is a chocolate brown, and When in Rio- is a green that has a bit of a teal reflection.
Temperature Rising- This quad is a great soft toned palette which is great for very girly eye looks and even a smokey eye look if using Beauty Marked on the lid. Performance Art- greyed lavender, Temperature Rising- a soft pinkish peach, Swelter- a lavender with a blue reflection, and Beauty Marked - is a blackened plum with red micro glitter. There was minimal fallout.

Bare My Soul Quad- L-R Romantico, Bare my Soul, Friendly, and When in Rio

Temperature Rising Quad- Performance Art, Temperature Rising, Swelter, Beauty Marked
Wearing Temperature Rising Quad with Swelter on the lid Rich Glance on the inner corner of the eye, Performance art on the brow bone, Temperature rising in the crease, and Beauty Marked on the outer v. Calienti and Underdressed on the lips. Ripe For Love on the cheeks and Nude on Board to define the cheeks.

Look idea!
 All About Orange-
This collection featured, well, orange! While some of the lipsticks were pinks that leaned orange the overall theme was pretty cohesive. This collection included 7 shades of lipsticks and three blushes. Featured many re promotes.

Limited Edition 15$
Neon Orange- This shade is permanent in the pro line and has an amplified finish. This shade leans the most red of all the shades. Very opaque when applied and lasts about 7 hours.
Tart and Trendy- Lustere and is a bright creamy orange. Leans a bit less red than neon orange. Even though it is a lustre it has even coverage and is opaque in about two swipes. Lasts about 3 hours on the lips.
Sushi Kiss- A light and creamy coral that reminds me of the color of salmon. This shade is half way between orange and pink. This shade has a satin finish and is opaque in one swipe. Lasts about 6 hours on the lips.
Tangerine Dream- This shade is also a lustre finish and is a bit sheer. This shade is a true orange that has a yellow base. While it does cover the lips in a few swipes it does let some of your natural lip shade peek through.
Sweet and Sour- This cremesheen lipstick lasts about 6 hours on the lips and is a light pink coral shade. Soft on the lips and the lightest of all the shades.
Razzledazzel- This lustre finish lipstick is a coral pink shade. Mostly opaque can look like a natural shade on the lips depending on your skin tone.
Flamingo- Also a lustre finish and it is a milky light coral. This shade leans more pink than orange and lasts about 4 hours on the lips. Mostly opaque.

Limited Edition 21$
 Blush-
Royal Sunset- Pinkish coral blush that glides on smooth and is easy to blend. Looks  very soft on the cheek.

Ariel Storylook Palette Review and Swatches

Boy do I feel lucky! This morning the UPS man dropped off this beautiful new palette from Sephora. Ariel is the newest addiction to the collection of Disney Reigning Princessss and this palette does not disappoint (aside from a shade or two).

The back of the box displays all the shades that are included. They are generous in both number and finish. The names are from the Disney film which adds just the right amount of childhood  to this big girl palette

Once opened the palette itself features a beautiful aquatic scene of Ariel gazing at the surface where she longs to be. Both dramatic and beautiful, this was an excellent choice for a cover. Inside there is a navy colored velvet box which the shadows sit upon. The pull tab is silver ribbon. Just the right touch.

The shadows themselves have an, overall, great quality to them. They are
Soft and easy to blend, yes even the mattes. Those shades which do lean a little sheer like Flounder, Sebastian, and treasures untold are the perfect contrast to the more pigmented Flotsom, Jetsam, and Sea Witch. Each row could easily be an eye look by itself or colors from all over the palette could be combined. I love the inclusion of shades like Fins , a glittery mermaid green, Sha La La, matte dark fuchsia,  Blue Lagoon, shimmering opaque blue, and Triton, shimmering gold.  The only shade I had a major issue with was Sick of Swimming. It was crumbly, hard to apply evenly, and not very pigmented. It would have made a good highlighter shade had it not been so hard to apply. Your Voice, which has micro glitter, gave me a lot of fallout. I didn't have this same issue with Triton which is similar in formula.

You can purchase this palette at Sephora for 55$

Overall I liked this palette, the nautical themed shades, perfect for summer. Loved most of the finishes and overall formula. If you love Disney, the little mermaid, beautiful makeup or just love beautiful packaging, this is a must have. So place this baby right next to your Cinderella and Jasmine! It's story time.

Here are some looks!

Wantable June 2013 Jewelry Box

Details:
Wantable, a monthly Jewelry subscription, is only 36$ (includes shipping!) or 40$ per box with no commitment. Free return shipping, style profile to assure you get pieces you will like, skip a month option.

The theme of this month's box is bright statement pieces, and stunning metallics. While i got more metallics than i did bright pieces i am mostly satisfied. Wantable suggests pairing these pieces with bright lips, matte nails, and glowing cheeks. You know i will be trying these tips!

1-  Gold hoop earrings with birds on them- These small bird earrings really aren't my style and i was a bit confused about them at first since i checked off that i like a larger size earrings but once i saw the neck scarf/head band i got a very retro 1950's feel to it and it made sense.
2- Blue polka dot neck scarf/head band. This fabric piece has a wire inside that allows you to bend it into whatever you want it to be. While doing my video review and wearing it for the first time the wire popped out through the fabric. I wasn't impressed about that but it did look quite pretty as a neck scarf.
3- Multi Gem Ring- This ring has a stretchable  band so it will fit nearly everyone. The gems are so pretty and very sparkly. Since it is neutral you can wear it with many outfits and matches the necklace quite well.
4- Snake print statement necklace- big and bold great for a night out, cocktails after work. If worn on its own can be very classy.

Overall i liked the quality of this month's pieces aside from the scarf. I would like to see Wantable follow their quiz a little bit stricter but i feel like every month they simply get better and better.

Glossybox Spring Fling March 2013 Review and Swatches

Time for spring flowers with Glossybox. This month, Glossybox was oozing with spring flare - from the flower adorned information card, to the magazine cover featuring a model wearing a flowy dress and a floral crown. This month had a mix of fresh items

The products this month were a combination of products from cosmetics to hair to soap. I love when i get a box with products from all different categories.
Elite Models Liner-
I am always up for trying a new liquid liner. While this isn't the most amazing liner i have ever tried i like that its bold, easy to apply, and opaque. This brown shade is neutral enough to be safe for any look while still being deep enough to define the eye. Fast drying. No smudges. Long lasting.
Full Size: 15$

Koh Gen Do Cosmetics Oriental Plants Emollient Cream-
When i first saw this product i really wasn't sure how to use it. I did have to google it. This product is meant to moisturize and keep skin looking fresh and dewy. While this sample was so small i couldn't really gauge if it really had any effect, i did like trying it
Full Size- 123$

ModelCo Cheek + Lip Tint
I have to be honest, the more times i try this brand the less and less i like it. From their sticky glosses to this tint that doesn't show up on the skin i am just not impressed. I did think that the packaging was cute and had there been a bit more pigmentation i would have been sold.
Full Size -24$

Prestiche Essential Oil Bar Soap-
This product had me at $40 gift Certificate. Yes a real gift certificate not a coupon mascaraing as a gift certificate. This bar of soap really left my skin feeling so soft and i loved, loved, LOVED, the scent of it. I went to the site and turns out they have lots of great natural items to choose from. Though they are a bit pricey i was able to get two bars of soap (one scented chocolate, oh i love confectionery themed products), and only had to pay shipping (yes shipping is a steep $12, but so worth it). I was glad that this product was included.
Full size - 16.99$

Sebastian Professional Shaper Fierce-
I love the name of this product. Anything with the word fierce in it just tickles my fancy. This product is a shaping spray  designed to keep any style in place. My hair is long, therefor heavy, and keeping any style in place can be a challenge. This product did help to retain volume and style for a bit longer than the average product.
Full size- 17$

Overall the variation of different types of products did impress me. Though i was not a fan of all of them i am glad i could try them, that's the point of a subscription like this anyway, right? Some items fell flat like the ModelCo and Koh Gen Do Cosmetics but products like Prestiche and Elite Models are products i will be (and already have) purchasing/purchased. I liked how many full size products were included (liner, soap, cheek and lip tint). What did you think of the March 2013 Spring Fling Glossybox?

If you are interested in subscribing to Glossybox, it is 21$ a month, free shipping, and you will receive various full size and deluxe sized products to try! Plus the sturdy box is great for storing and organizing cosmetics! You can sign up here!

Hayley Williams Collection Sounds Like Noise, Daydreaming, Riot Gear, and Lightscapade Review and Swatches

Don't you just love a fresh collaboration? I know i do! When i found out that MAC was teaming up the Paramore's Hayley Williams i was pretty excited! Her talent for funky style and passionate lyrics would, not doubt, transfer into this collection and be anything but boring!

Sounds Like Noise-
Finally a bright, matte, TRUE, orange. I am one of those people that looks high and low for shades like this. Oranges that look, well, ORANGE! I am so sick of red's that pretend to be oranges. So, to me at least, this was somewhat of a holy grail. While a matte lipstick, this shade is not terribly drying but neither is it terribly hydrating. Even coverage, opaque, non streaky. It lasts about 6 hours on the lips and only begins to fade with moderate eating. I used a straw and ate breakfast and had it on for at least 5 hours before i found it necessary to reapply. Though limited edition, there is no special packaging. This shade is just about the same color as Genuine Orange, so this would make a great liner for this shade or if this shade sells out (since it is limited) you can always turn to Genuine Orange. Love the vanilla scent that is subtle enough to be enjoyed but not over powering and leaves no taste. Fun shade for spring. (This shade is brighter and more orange than both Neon Orange and Morage, which tend to lean a little darker and more red)

Daydreaming-
This shadow, which has a Veluxe Pearl finish (frost), is a mid tone coral. It has just a light shimmer to it which becomes apparent in natural light. This shade has a good deal of pigmentation and can start off coral and blend into a light orange. Blends easily, does not crease, and should flatter most skin tones.

Riot Gear-
This creamy and bright true orange is sure to brighten up your nails. While i found this shade a little streaky, it did dry fast, and was opaque in about two coats. Contains conditioners and UV protection so it would be a great shade for those days in the sun at the beach. I did not find this shade to chip easily and when pared with Sounds Like Noise, you can utilize the trend of matching nails to lips. On a side note i feel like this shade makes my hand looked tanned when it really isn't, which is alright by me!

This high frost, metallic sheen, is one of the most natural highlighters i have seen in a while. Adds just a bit of light to wherever you apply it illuminating the skin. While this shade is nearly transparent, it will make your face look bright. I loved that it was sheer enough to let my skin show naturally through. While frost may sound scary, this shade is actually very flattering on skin tones that are pale to medium. Easy to blend, great pigmentation for the type of product it is, and light weight on the skin. This product does start to fade after about 5 hours, but it excels in every other way.

Overall, i thought this collection was fun, bright, and high quality. I think these products would be great for spring, summer, and fall. I love how they work cohesively as a set to  create a Hayley look, or on their own. This product is Limited Edition, so if you haven't checked it out, please do so before it's gone!
